Chemical Laboratory & Production Technician

Eterneva creates diamonds that celebrate the lives of remarkable people and pets. Our production team is responsible for transforming customer-provided material through a highly controlled manufacturing process that ultimately produces the carbon used in growing a personalized diamond.

We're looking for a Chemical Laboratory & Production Technician who takes pride in precise, hands-on work and wants to become exceptionally good at a specialized manufacturing process.

This is not a desk-based laboratory position. You will spend much of your day performing hands-on chemical and production work, operating laboratory equipment, documenting processes, maintaining an exceptionally clean workspace, and ensuring customer material remains accurately identified and controlled throughout production.

The right person is dependable, careful, comfortable performing repeatable processes, and disciplined enough to follow a procedure exactly even when no one is watching.

What You'll Do

• Perform multi-stage chemical purification of customer-provided material to produce high-purity carbon for diamond production.
• Safely handle and work around hazardous laboratory chemicals
• Perform chemical processing using laboratory fume hoods and required PPE.
• Operate laboratory equipment used for grinding, heating, mixing, filtration, drying, weighing, and thermal processing.
• Precisely weigh, transfer, label, process, and track small quantities of customer material.
• Follow written SOPs, batch instructions, safety procedures, and quality-control requirements without shortcuts.
• Maintain strict chain-of-custody and traceability for individual customer samples.
• Record production data accurately and completely in company systems.
• Perform visual and process quality inspections and identify results that fall outside established specifications.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, chemical inventory, equipment, PPE, and organized workstations.
• Assist with routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Document process deviations and escalate safety, quality, or equipment concerns immediately.
• Participate in continuous improvement of laboratory procedures, documentation, safety, and production efficiency.
• Support other diamond-production activities as needed, including preparation of carbon and growth materials.

What We're Looking For

Required

• Previous hands-on experience working in a chemical laboratory, wet-chemistry laboratory, industrial laboratory, chemical manufacturing environment, or similar technical production environment.
• Demonstrated ability to safely handle laboratory chemicals and follow chemical safety procedures.
• Experience following detailed SOPs or controlled manufacturing procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive processes consistently.
• Comfortable working with small quantities where labeling, measurement, contamination control, and traceability are critical.
• Able to maintain accurate written and electronic production records.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Comfortable working independently after training while knowing when to stop and ask for assistance.
• Willingness to wear required PPE and strictly follow laboratory safety procedures at all times.
• Strongly Preferred
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical technology, materials science, laboratory science, or a related technical field.
• 1+ years of hands-on laboratory or chemical-processing experience.
• Experience with wet chemistry, acid digestion, chemical purification, filtration, or sample preparation.
• Experience working with concentrated acids.
• Experience operating laboratory fume hoods.
• Experience in a regulated, quality-controlled, clean-room, manufacturing, or production laboratory.
• Familiarity with SDS documentation, chemical labeling, chemical storage, and laboratory waste procedures.
• Previous experience working with HF is valuable but not required; role-specific HF training will be provided before an employee is authorized to perform HF processes.

Safety & Working Environment

• This position works in a specialized chemical and thermal-processing laboratory.
• Team members may work with or around:
• Concentrated corrosive acids, including hydrofluoric acid
• Chemical fumes and laboratory reagents
• Fine particulate materials
• Heated chemical processes
• Hot surfaces and laboratory vessels
• High-temperature thermal-processing equipment
• Specialized electrical and induction equipment
• Employees are provided appropriate training and required PPE and are expected to follow all established chemical-handling, equipment, emergency-response, and laboratory safety procedures.
